    Nine Ways Mindfulness Reduces Stress - Mindful

    Inevitably our attitudes are always present in the way we move and are influenced by our environment. We can play with those attitudes by moving differently and by embodying different modes or expressions of life in our movement improvisations. As well as patterns and pathways within our individual practice, we shall explore the communication that happens between us in the changing moment, identifying, accepting and disrupting habits as a way of opening up new choices, a new movement vocabulary and fresh resources for imaginative and creative work.

    In association with UL, a small number of places are available for professional dance artists and actors with movement training. Our initial session will last about 2 hours as we discuss your current state of health, including your past and present challenges. We will talk about your current lifestyle as it pertains to your overall systemic health.

    We may even delve into your emotional state of being because everything is related.

    In my opinion, this is one of the shortcomings of modern medicine. Most traditional doctors are trained to treat the symptoms When you begin to consider your health from a holistic point of view, you are in control and better able to make positive changes that last. Depending on your current state of health, we will likely need to meet several times as you learn what works for your body. This is not a quick fix. It will take time and effort to shift unhealthy habits into healthy ones. In doing so, you may be surprised to learn about the strong relationship between physical health, emotional health and mental health. They are all interrelated. For example, when I feel stressed, I like to eat.


    I am typically drawn to less-than-healthy choices preferring anything sugary and sweet. Knowing this about myself, I can be prepared for those stress-induced cravings. I have to admit, I don't always make the healthy choice. I am at least prepared and can consciously choose the milkshake or donuts! Knowing what types of food are healthy for your body type is vitally important. Should you eat your veggies raw, blanched or fully cooked? Do you feel bloated after eating certain foods?
